Happy Pentecost

Today is the Feast of the Pentecost.  It is truly a feast of faith.

Given the times, I am praying that the Holy Spirit inspires us to be faithful.  I’ve always wondered why people can claim that the Holy Spirit has led us in new directions.  His role is confirm us in the faith, to strengthen us.  How can one claim that dissent comes from the Holy Spirit??

I certainly am praying that the Holy Spirit remains close to the Holy Father during these troubling times and that ALL the culprits are brought out of hiding.  It seems to me the Pope’s butler was probably not the mastermind of this breach of Faith.  It is a test to us and, more importantly, the Holy Father to not lose heart.  I am praying for Paolo Gabriele.  I doubt he’d risk his family if not “promised” things by those with more power/control.

Thank you Father for your gift of the Son and the Spirit and for the gift of faith.  May I continue to receive the blessings and grace needed to live as a Christian.  Please grant me and the whole world the gifts of self control and peace.

Happy Memorial Day and may the Lord grant peace and comfort to the fallen and their families. Amen.

About sisterbernice

I am a practicing Catholic in love with the Lord. Whatever his failings, I recognize the same in our Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI. He serves as one of my great teachers. A truly misunderstood figure, I hope all who have reviled him might actually read him and find their way to God.
